It is getting to be that time of the year when it is safe to prune your fruit trees in Virginia. Most of the orchards spend the “wintertime” trimming & pruning their fruit trees to prepare them for the spring. It is also a time to selectively cull any trees that are not able to produce or are too far damaged to continue in your orchard. Always use clean pruners and saws. Wear the proper safety equipment. Be careful using ladders and climbing trees, that is and can be a very dangerous situation.
