Freeze warning

There is a freeze warning tonight and it is important to protect the tender plants and flowering shrubs you might have in your yard.  You can protect them with burlap, sheets or row protectors (which we have – great to have on hand when an emergency strikes.)  If you have containers and you can move them, put them in the garage or shed.  It will probably be a killing frost especially for flowers.  So enjoy those Magnolias and Forsythia, you might not see them after the weekend.

Hope everyone is getting spring fever, I am swimming in it, lots of perennials that are popping up from their winter hibernation.  We got the prettiest Heucherella ‘Sweet Tea’ in today, this is a must have for any garden especially one with some shade.

So, I am working on the workshop schedule for spring.  I have a bunch of ideas of the workshops I would like to host here at the garden center.  Veggie & herb gardening, obviously, the Rain Garden, and Rain Barrel Workshop, plus, perennials, CPR for trees & shrubs from winter damage and more.

I am working on developing a children’s program as well.  I so enjoyed gardening as a child and I want to share that enthusiasm I experienced with others.  My dilema is figuring out what day would be the best for the most people.  It has to be short & sweet!  This will definitely be a make it take it kind of program & for free!!
